![]() If you're thinking the Video Processor plugin should only be on "the" video track but not "the image tracks".that's where the problem is. That's about the only thing I think I'd need to specify a different track number, other than the one I'm currently using the plugin for.) (Not yet anyway since I'm not bothering with any "crossfade" presets, since crossfades can be done other ways. I just use the Video Processor plugin on the tracks I want to apply it to, and don't have to specify a track number in the code area. !project_wh_valid ? input_info(img1,project_w,project_h) Notice I did change the two lines as you suggested James, and looking at the 3rd line starting with "!project_wh_valid", could that line be getting the size of the image from the actual source info? If so, wouldn't project_w and project_h be the variables then? Looking at the image of the script, I put 2 for "input_track" is that correct? The image is on track 2. I change the order in Project Settings so now I've got the main video on top as it should be. Thanks James, I'm missing something because I can't get it to work at all. Either way you'll be using the x/y offset to place the image where you want. Or you can start with a small image before you import. If the image isn't small enough, you can "zoom" it out. (The order depends on how you set it up in your project settings.) Put the small image on the "top" layer, video on the "bottom" layer. One track's contents "sits on top of" the other track's, like layers in Photoshop. Sure! Video is one track, image is on another. When I scroll back to the signup page it says "There are errors below". Something must be screwed up because I put in the correct info, then confirmed "I'm not a robot", and then get a message to click on the link in the email they sent, but I'm not getting any emails. Heh heh, I'm kind of striking out all around today, I've signed up for the newsletter twice so far, but got no reply. Thanks James, yah, I found that out, deleting or removing a preset does not remove the envelope, I had to do that manually. So be sure to set your envelope mode appropriately (I recommend a per-track setting) and also delete any unused envelopes ("show all active" so you can see what's there). Then when you change Video Processor's presets, it sometimes leave behind those now unused envelopes (which you wouldn't expect) and you'll have to remove them otherwise they'll mess with your ability to adjust the parameters of the currently selected preset. The envelopes may be hidden from view by default, so you won't notice them in that case. If you had the envelopes enabled globally in "touch" mode (this is where I found this error or possibly bug), every time you adjust a parameter in a Video Processor preset it'll add an envelope (as you'd expect). Even with automation envelopes, I can see the knobs moving in the FX, but the image remains unchanged. Thanks James, I made those changes but it didn't seem to help. If you weren't using a transparent GIF/PNG and you were just trying to use the "track opacity/zoom/pan" preset, I haven't had any problems with that so far. I played around a bit and ended up with this as a solution: It seems to start off with the image zoomed to the video size for the project (be sure to check this in your project settings), and with the "filter" (to smooth it when resizing) off (0 instead of 1). If so: the image overlay preset is a bit weird. (If you add a GIF/PNG with transparency as normal on a track, without this preset it'll just force the transparent bits to be opaque.) Were you using the "image overlay" video processor preset? If so that's just meant for transparent GIF/PNG type files, so it can allow the transparent parts to actually be transparent. ![]() I couldn't get any of the controls to work. I got the image to show up but it was enlarged and right in the middle of the video. I was getting along pretty good yesterday until I put in an image. Maybe ask the questions and if I can help, I will. Sounds really interesting, I'll be checking that out for sure. Yeah, I noticed that in the FX and wondered what it was. The defense of, everyone else does it, isn't a defense in a court of law. Many have heard a plea that I was just keeping up with traffic in defense of a speeding violation, it usually isn't considered a legal excuse in a court. When people feel they got swindled, and didn't get what they paid for, is when these practices become fraudulent. But it can become a case of fraud in a misrepresentation of facts. VIN numbers are a federal offense, if you want to roll the dice and hope your not caught, then that's your choice, and you live by your choice.īlock codes aren't a federal offense, that's more of an ethical thing. Now if the swapped cab came from a stolen truck, all this would have changed. He didn't do any jail time other than when he was arrested, and posted bond to be released. The person who bought the truck was reimbursed for their purchase price by my previous teacher. The truck was confiscated, and destroyed by the state in his case. ![]() It comes down to the prosecutors view if this was against the law, and if they want to enforce the law to the letter. He cut the old one out and spliced it into the donor cab. But he then would have to get a state issued VIN tag, which he didn't do. I believe it was easier to swap the cab than repair the old one. In this particular instance it has swapping a cab on an older chevy truck because of rust. The whole thing is about fraud, and if changing numbers made you enriched from the act. He did loose his job though, not certain if he got back wages, or not. He was later acquitted and charges were dropped. My Vo Tech instructor did exactly what you're describing here, and was arrested in PA, and jailed back in the late 70s. This is an interesting topic to me I posted it before didn’t get much response. Personally I’ve never restamped or rebodied anything because I’m a drag racer not a restoration guy and never cared enough, but I know the Chevy / corvette guys do it regularly out in the open. Well same goes for the China bumper, or intake, or whatever I hear a lot “ well no one might tell the new owner of the block or whatever part is a restamp”. Now look at a guy who repops a RAIV intake,a exhaust manifold, a bumper, a pot metal piece, whatever the part may be, same part casting numbers maybe even a date code and it’s made In Let’s say China? Which is more fraudulent? One is an actual Pontiac part, one never saw a Pontiac foundry or a dealership or is even American metal It didn’t know where it was going that day anyway. Gets restored and rest amped correctly for the new car How bad is it if that same block that could have been used (that same cast number). So a guy takes a block that could have been on one of two cars that day and hit stamped one way for that car. The question is where is the line, where should the line be? I posed this question in another thread. My issue has always been the guys yelling the loudest about how wrong it is are the ones doing it the most lol I wouldn’t do it cause I don’t want the headache that could arise out of it. Do not jump to any conclusions that I do this with my cars just cause I posted this. Cut around serial number by a couple inches and bondo-ed and sanded and painted it. These works were some of Koons’s first readymades. Back in his apartment, he would make sculptures by arranging the toys against mirrored and transparent plexiglass tiles. He purchased inflatable plastic toys from discount stores on Manhattan’s Fourteenth Street, Broadway, and Lower East Side. Koons began experimenting with the idea of the readymade when he moved to New York in the late 1970s. Indeed, Koons has not only displayed unaltered objects as his own, he has also made meticulous replicas of mundane objects, pushing the concept of the readymade to new limits. Since the early twentieth century, the readymade has had a profound impact on the ideas and work of many artists, including Koons. ![]() This provocative act challenged the importance of aesthetics and questioned what art could be. In 1913, French artist Marcel Duchamp invented the readymade by taking an ordinary object such as a stool, a bicycle wheel, a shovel, and a urinal, often modifying the object slightly, and displaying that object as art. From his early works to his recent sculpture and paintings, Koons has built on the idea of Marcel Duchamp’s readymade sculptures: he has elevated familiar objects-inflatable toys, basketballs, vacuum cleaners-from the mundane to the exceptional, providing a powerful commentary on the culture in which we live and art’s place within that culture. Since the early 1980s, Jeff Koons has used common objects to comment on the commercialism that characterizes our contemporary world. Organized by Nancy and Steve Crown Family Curator and Associate Director of Programs Scott Rothkopf, the exhibition surveys more than three decades of Jeff Koons’s art and includes approximately 140 works across a variety of mediums. Jeff Koons: A Retrospective is the artist’s first large-scale museum presentation in New York and also the first time that a single artist’s work will fill nearly the entire Museum. ![]() Outside of his studio, Koons has transformed the relationship of artists to the cult of celebrity and the global market to become one of the best-known visual artists alive today. Throughout his career, he has pioneered new approaches to the readymade, tested the boundaries between advanced art and mass culture, and challenged the limits of industrial fabrication in works of great beauty and emotional intensity. I discuss about the needs or not but focusing in the goal: make a song. In my opinion Garageband is the right way to implement a DAW without floating windows but I understand people using AUM with AUv3 plugs and all the routing madness (sadly without automation neither). That's the point of discussing, find new info which could benefit all sides. The exception but I still didn't put enough energy to verify could be Zenbeats (or Gadget but its price/Cpu demand makes it unreliable for my workflow) and then export into Ableton/Garageband desktop. I prefer to start things on BlocsWave, Garageband, Looper apps. In fact I barely use any DAW on iOS after all the lacks all they have. ![]() Sure I wasn't to sound salty just showing that your initial assumptions were opinions based on your experience but less than the gospel truth about iOS DAWs. I guess it’s nice to have a place with other iOS music warriors to share thoughts and frustrations with Those features IMO are not just nice to have but essential.Īnyway not sure what exactly my intention was by starting this discussion. My only objective observation is that iOS GarageBand is behind Cubasis, Auria and NS2 when it comes to technical features like automation, master bus or mixer (oh and more than two effect busses that are restricted to apple delay and reverb). Of course to some people iOS GarageBand is more than enough or they are happy to work around things. This thread obviously is rather subjective. When they decide to merge all (if they do it someday), they will release a full DAW on the winner platform but I think they are ok with all this segmented workflow and user mining IMO. It's possible to do full songs with Garageband even with the limitations it has but these are there to make users buy a mac. Its great if you are making a 20 second jingle, once you get closer to making a real song with parts, tracks and audio units the best thing to do is -Optimising performance. Because that's the kind of stuff that keeps us up at night. This way you get the behaviour you're used to, and we don't have to obsess over the fact that it's actually technically incorrect terminology. That's why by default, a mask in Resolume is inverted. ![]() In After Effects, masks are actually crops, since they cut off the outside of the image. Tip! Nerd alert! The way we are most used to masking from for instance After Effects is actually wrong. You can invert a mask, effectively creating a hole. You can add as many masks as needed.Ī mask will cut off all pixels that are outside of it. Masks allow you to hide parts of the output, without distorting it. In the Output Transformation stage, you can also add masks. Because the math for that gets really complicated. Bezier warping is not available on poly slices. Poly slices are super awesome because they can change the position of each point of the mesh. Linear warping is also available on poly slices. This way you can have nice smooth curved mappings while maintaining correct perspective. Tip! Why choose when you can have both? Use the big corner points for perspective warping and their baby brothers for additional bezier warping. Each point will then show two additional bezier handles that you can use to make the warping curve like a Coca-Cola bottle. They have the added advantage that you can add more points horizontally and vertically for more complex warping.Īlso you can switch the mode from Linear to Bezier. These points work the same way as their bigger brothers, except they do not adjust for perspective. ![]() ![]() Linear warping is applied by the four smaller corner points inside the perspective warper points. Poly slices cannot be perspective warped. Perspective warping is available on regular slices only. Notice how the grid squares are evenly spaced on the right image, but stretched on the left.įor most simple cube mapping work, perspective warping is the mode you want. Linear warping (left image) vs perspective warping (right image) when projecting on a cube at a 45 degree angle. Using perspective warping, Resolume adjusts for this and keeps the scale of your content correct along the length of your object. This means that your content will get more and more stretched the further along your object it is. For instance, when projecting at an angle, the light hitting the furthest point of your surface will disperse further than the light hitting the closest point. Perspective warping keeps the perspective of your output correct. You apply perspective warping by changing the four large corner points of your slice. In this tab, you can adjust the individual points that make up your slice. This warping is done in the Edit Points tab. This is useful for projection mapping the output to an irregularly shaped surface, or when aligning multiple projectors for a spanned output. This way, you can for instance take the bottom left quarter of your composition, and position it in the top left of your output.Īdditionally, on the Output Transformation stage you can apply screen warping, which means you can adjust the geometry on the final output. The difference is that now you actually move the pixels around, as opposed to choosing a different set of pixels to use as input. In this tab, you change the position and scale of your entire slice. Just like on the Input Selection stage, on the Output Transformation stage you can change the size and position of your slices. The same screens and slices you've configured on the Input Selection stage are available on the Output Transformation stage. You use it to align your output to projection mapping structures or shuffle your pixels for output to a LED processor. The Output Transformation stage is where all the magic happens. The Output Transformation stage is available on Resolume Arena only! ![]() ![]() ![]()
